Wear
All tires have wear indicators that become visible when the
tread has been reduced to 1.6 mm or 2/3 po thickness. The tire must then be
replaced. Another trick for checking tread wear is the “red cent test.” Simply
insert a penny in one of the grooves making sure to position the Queen’s crown
inside the groove. If you can see the points at the top of the crown, it’s time
to change the tire.
You should perform a visual check of each of your tires at least once a
month.

Rotation
Another way to promote even wear of your tires and to increase their life
expectancy consists in rotating them regularly. There are different rotation
patterns for tires. Rotation should never include a temporary spare wheel or
mini spare wheel. Check your vehicle owner’s manual or your UNIPNEU
Dealer for recommendations. Barring any other indication in the owner’s
manual, you should rotate your tires every 10,000 km.
